According to a representative from the Covid care center, they are set to fly to Israel on Thursday. Bnei Menashe Jews are thought to be descendants of the Manasseh tribe, one of Israel’s ten lost tribes. According to sources, the community currently numbers roughly 6,000 people in Manipur and Mizoram. Members of this group in India have gradually relocated to Israel during the previous three decades. So far, 287 individuals have been admitted to the Covid care center, with 195 of them being discharged after testing negative for the virus.
After recovering, 67 Bnei Menashe Jews from Manipur who tested positive for coronavirus before going to Israel were released from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Covid Centre at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in central Delhi.
On May 21, 38 Bnei Menashe Jews were sent to the Covid care center after testing positive just hours before flying to Israel. After that, 29 more community members were admitted to the center.
