Jerusalem: A group of Bnei Menashe Jews from Manipur moved to the Jewish state, where they were reunited with an Indian couple who had been apart for more than seven years since their engagement.
She had to wait for more than seven years to see him again because the government under then Prime Minister Ehud Olmert put a hold on immigration to the community soon after he moved there.
A group of 40 Jews from Manipur arrived in Israel yesterday. They are the first of a total of 250 people from the Lost Tribe who will move to Israel over the next month.
