Mumbai: Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will pay an emotional visit to a Jewish center targeted in the 2008 Mumbai bombings this week, to raise the visibility of India’s tiny and diminishing Jewish population.
Netanyahu will discuss trade in New Delhi and marvel at the Taj Mahal before concluding his trip in Mumbai, home of India’s estimated 4,500 Jews.
He’ll join Moshe Holtzberg, an 11-year-old boy, as he visits the house where his parents were slain in the 26/11 terror strikes, which killed 166 people.
Worshippers at Mumbai’s Magen David synagogue are anticipating the first visit to India by an Israeli leader in over 15 years.
