NEW DELHI: Covid-19 put a stop to over a hundred Bnei Menashe Jews from Manipur traveling to Israel. 40 of them tested positive for Covid on Monday, just hours before leaving their Karol Bagh hotel for Indira Gandhi International Airport.
They are currently residing in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee’s Guru Tegh Bahadur Covid Care Centre.
The 40 were generally minor instances, according to officials at the Covid center. Five, however, were found to have a severe infection and were transported to Lok Nayak Hospital by the Delhi government. The Covid care center’s head, Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, said the total contingent numbered roughly 125 people, including nine youngsters under the age of 12.
